Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts and do not move it while the wax is hot.

Extinguish carefully, confirm the flame is fully out and allow the candle to cool before touching or moving it.
Expect a changing object.
Sculptural shapes can melt irregularly. Use a tray large enough to catch wax and protect the surface beneath.
